Here is probably the first truly Motocross and Enduro Boot.  Other boots, including tall lace ups were used for dirt bike riding in the 60's and 70', but the Full Bore boots by Sidi became a very popular boot in the 70's.  They also became known to millions of TV viewers when the TV series, Battlestar Galactica, used these boots in the 1978 and 1979 series.  They were dyed dark brown as can be seen in picture #7.

Go to the  Full Bore Boot Trivia. page in the Facts & Trivia section.  You will learn how to tell which Full Bore boots were used in Battlestar Galactica.  But first, be sure and check out the pictures and details below.

I was fortunate to find many pairs a few years ago, brand new, still in the original boxes.  Several of these and some used ones with real dirt bike riding character are featured below.  Thanks to the help of several Battlestar Galactica fans, I have featured some pictures of the boots like those used on the TV series.  If you want to know more about the TV series, click the Galactica name below for a great web site.

This is the Boot that really started it all.  The Full Bore boots go back to the 1970's.  These first 4 pictures are 4 brand new, never worn boots.  The two pairs on the right have the Full Bore logo on the front.  This was a later addition.   See the details for more facts and trivia on these great boots.

Boots #5 & 6 are probably the latest version made of the 7 buckle style.  The first Full Bores were constructed of 100% leather including the inside tongue.  Boots #5 & 6 uses a vinyl tongue, otherwise the boot is all leather.  Boot #7 is like those worn on the TV Series.  I would like to thank Steve R. from New Jersey for this prized photo.

Going back in time to 1970, this row of boots (currently only boot #10) features the very first Full Bore boots.  The main distinguishing mark is the use of standard style buckles instead of the aluminum clasp as used on the later models.  It took forever to buckle us a pair of these boots.  That's 14 buckles to fasten!
